Clinical Systems was founded in 1988 to promote and develop their clinical trials software application ClinAxys II, a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) designed for use in both clinical and pre-clinical diagnostic laboratories around the world.

Developed to provide the clinical pathology laboratory with a complete study protocol driven system, ClinAxys II's predefined information enables the user to capture both manual and on-line instrument data to a central database. This data can then be used to produce both standard and unique report styles, in a variety of different formats (e.g. paper, electronic, fax etc.).

Currently the system operates on any Microsoft Operating System (e.g. Microsoft W95, NT, W2000, XP etc.) and is also capable of interacting with both existing client specific software, as well as other major 'off the shelf' databases e.g. Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

The system enables the laboratory to seamlessly: schedule work, collect data, store it on a central database, export information to second-party systems and finally 'publish' this data as a report or onto either a corporate Intranet or secure Internet location (via the use of Oracle Portal).

Clinical Systems is committed to quality assurance and the highest industry standards for LIMS software. All their products comply with the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines of the U.K. Department of Health, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Environment Protection Agency.

Their headquarters for operations, development and marketing is in Buckinghamshire, UK. They also have sales and technical support facilities at their Montvale and East Brunswick offices, both situated in New Jersey, USA.
