(DSSI), was established in 1994 to provide a cross platform universal data acquisition package. Their OmniServer data acquisition software package was released in 1995. The product is popular with users of Windows-based human machine interface (HMI) products, and has high-performance support for four of the largest HMI packages. For software packages not using a high-performance interface, OmniServer also supports standard DDE. OmniServer is DDE/OPC configurable server software, designed specifically for serial and TCP/IP data acquisition. The OmniServer I/O Server is a Windows program that provides applications real-time access to a variety of I/O devices. In addition to basic OPC support, OmniServer also supports DDE and the high-performance interfaces to many major HMI products. Any Windows program that can act as an OPC or DDE client can use OmniServer. Devices supported by OmniServer include bar code readers, scales, micrometers, chemical analyzers, controllers, and many others. |
