Amphora Research Systems is a subsidiary of New Information Paradigms Ltd.
(NIP), and was formed on October 1st, 2001 to focus on developing software
to help research scientists record their work and collaborate more effectively,
whilst at the same time comply with patenting and standards requirements.
The company has been providing Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) solutions and
related services since 1996. Amphora is an active member of CENSA (the Collaborative
Electronic Notebook Systems Association) and the sponsor of such industry
initiatives as CENSML and the Open Source Electronic Lab Notebook. Amphora's
solutions are being used by thousands of scientists around the world, across
diverse disciplines and industries.
ELNs can solve some of the key issues facing R&D-based organisations.
Amphora's ELNs are designed to be the natural place for the scientists in
a company to conduct and document their research (hundreds or thousands
of users, often in different sites and/or countries), even though these
might be split into groups with little in common except they all work for
the same company. Amphora's ELNs make existing tasks more efficient and
minimise time spent on administration; support the different scientific
disciplines and ways of working found within most companies; co-ordinate
and integrate with existing tools in a way that simply isn't possible with
paper; store and manage knowledge to boost collaboration across departments
and geographies; create patentable records with minimum disruption to work;
facilitate compliance with external and internal standards; and, archive
responsibly so that records can be accessed and understood well into the
future.
