JusticeTrax is a leading provider of software solutions to the criminal justice
professional. Their LIMS solution, JusticeTrax LIMS-plus, is designed specifically
for the crime laboratory. LIMS-plus is a flexible and powerful application
that includes tools for tracking evidence, completing scientific analysis,
and case management and reporting. The product is used by more than 1500 criminalists
in crime labs across North America.
Another product, JusticeTrax PathAssist, offers a customizable and robust
management system for medical examiners and coroners. PathAssist captures
and reports on data collected during death investigations, postmortem examinations,
and toxicological testing.
JusticeTrax was previously a division of AG Communication Systems, a joint
venture of AT&T's Lucent Technologies and GTE. The employees purchased
the division in May 2000 and it is now operated as an employee-owned company.
AT&T entered the LIMS market in 1994 with AT&T LIMS-plus, which was
subsequently renamed JusticeTrax LIMS-plus. The product was originally developed
at the central laboratories of a number of state police organizations for
forensics laboratories, and is designed to manage multiple evidence examinations
across several lab sections. In May 2000, the employees purchased JusticeTrax
from Lucent and it is now a privately-held, employee-owned company.
