Founded in 1996, Aurora Systems develops and markets the VisuaLab LIMS for Veterinary Clinical laboratories and Veterinary Diagnostic laboratories. VisuaLab is a full-featured client/server database system, created in PowerBuilder , for maintaining patient information and tracking laboratory results. It provides total laboratory information management in an easy-to-use Windows environment. Standard features for VisuaLab include order entry, work list reports, label printing, results entry, patient reports archive, search capability, user customization, instrument interface, multiple security levels, billing interface, auditing, dial-in access, fax transmission, online help, and email.

VisuaLab strictly conforms to all Windows standards, meaning that all data entry windows open within the main window. All commands and data entry windows are available from the menu. The most frequently used menu items are broken out and displayed on a shortcut bar. VisuaLab has also incorporated free text fields for clinical history and client notes.

Minimum recommended specifications to run VisuaLab are Microsoft Windows 95 or higher (32-bit), 32 MB of RAM, VGA color monitor, Network compatible with Microsoft Windows.
