Comlabs Systems & Designs Pty. Ltd. was formed in 1979 as a laboratory
providing contract analytical chemistry services in the mining, metals, industrial
and environmental areas. As part of its operation, Comlabs developed the CCLAS
LIMS which helps monitor the samples throughout the laboratory and also ensure
adequate quality control procedures are maintained.
Today there are about 2,000 CCLAS users located in more than 180 sites in
30+ countries in a wide range of production, research and commercial laboratory
operations. CCLAS installations range from simple stand alone single user
systems through to complex network systems with as many as 70 concurrent users.
Their current LIMS, CCLAS EL, was developed specifically for the mineral, mining and metals industry. CCLAS has also found use in environmental, agricultural, oil & gas, food and veterinary laboratories.
CCLAS EL is a true three-tier
Client/Server application utilising Microsoft component object model (COM)
technology. The data presentation tier utilises the standard Microsoft Windows
Graphical User Interface which provides a simple and familiar means of entering
data and configuring the system. The use of this standard interface allows
new users to rapidly become efficient in its
use. The latest version of CCLAS EL now incorporates .NET modules including
a Report Writer and Management Dashboard. CCLAS EL is an integral component
of Mincom's new MineMarket solution, is SAP certified, and can be integrated
with ERP and other corporate systems.
