Desert Oasis Software, which recently changed ownership, was formerly a division
of Desert Oasis Service Center, Inc., which wrote the Agri-Labs Information
Systems (ALIS) package that was launched in May 2000. Written specifically
for labs analyzing soils, water, plant tissues, feeds and forage, compost,
and manure, ALIS handles the information and reporting needs for environmental,
agricultural and industrial concerns. For agricultural labs making fertilizer
recommendations, ALIS will help users automate the creation of their recommendations.
ALIS is modular, so users only need purchase the modules that concern the
sample types they actually work with. Later, as the lab grows and needs change,
additional modules can be purchased and activated with a minimum of fuss.
ALIS is very competitively priced, allowing smaller labs some of the same
benefits that larger labs have enjoyed for years. Fully functional but time-limited
demo CDs are available on request, or download the majority of ALIS directly
from their website.
ALIS is being successfully used in public universities, private laboratories,
and non-lab consultants across the United States and into Mexico.
