GenoLogics Life Sciences Software Inc. is a high tech company committed to
providing high quality data management software solutions to the life sciences
industry. They address complex data management needs for biotech, clinical,
medical, and high throughput research enterprises.
They provide a proteomics solution, ProteusLIMS, and Geneus, their Genomics
LIMS solution.
ProteusLIMS
Their proteomics LIMS solution, ProteusLIMS, is a dedicated LIMS for high-throughput
proteomics facilities to manage projects, workflow and proteomics data. ProteusLIMS
is a powerful suite of focused data management modules that, when combined,
provide the specificity and power to track thousands of samples, proteomics
specific workflow, and integrate gel electrophoresis, ICAT, liquid chromatography
and mass spectrometry data in a centralized data repository. ProteusLIMS supports
all major instrumentation vendors file formats and is being developed ontop
of GenoLogics' Open Systems Informatics Platform.
ProteusLIMS is built in a modular architecture, allowing proteomics researchers
to choose the modules that meet their exact needs. Modules developed or in
current development include BaseSys, GelManager, ProFlow, MSpecManager, LabClient,
and ProteinManager.
ProteusLIMS is designed on a client-server framework, allowing multiple simultaneous
users accessing shared data. Because of its development as a set of synergistic
modules, ProteusLIMS easily interfaces with other GenoLogics data management
modules and many third party systems with minimal customizations.
Geneus
GenoLogics worked with theirr leading customers and technology partners to
develop Geneus, their latest software solution, focused on the Genomics and
Systems Biology. The release of this product will initially focus on the following
application areas:
• Gene Expression on the Affymetrix GeneChip platform
• SNP Genotyping on the Affymetrix GeneChip platform
• SNP Genotyping using the TaqMan method
Key benefits of the Geneus solution include:
* End-to-end data management for gene expression and genotyping processes.
* Providing data facilities as an extension of the GenoLogics open platform
for discovery, including collaboration management, and data exchange formats.
* Management of sample biosource data.
* Integration with lab instrumentation, allowing for automated data capture.
* Improved lab efficiency through organized use of resources, and improved
throughput.
* Delivery of streamlined tools to streamline sample submission, reporting,
and billing, with the aim of reducing overall costs.
* Functionality to address the unique challenges of genomics research.
The Geneus features will continue to evolve as additional gene expression,
analysis and genotyping requirements are defined.
