In January 2004, Telecation was purchased by OPS Systems, Inc. from RTS Enabling Technologies who had purchased Telecation in April 2001. Headquartered in Rio Rancho, NM, OPS Systems provides strategic data management software and preventive maintenance software solutions.

Telecation's LIMS solutions include Conifer, Aspen, and Aspen Enterprise. Aspen Enterprise and Aspen LIMS are 32-bit client/server LIMS written to take advantage of the most recent advancements in computer power, relational database design, and new concepts in laboratory data handling. Aspen Enterprise and Aspen LIMS not only perform basic LIMS functions, but also provide extended functions which fully automate data management in the laboratory, including test batching, user-definable reports, invoicing, automated quality control, and database structure modification. Instrument interfacing, barcode generation, and file export to other software are supported. Aspen Enterprise as well as Aspen LIMS are developed in Access 8.0 (Access 97) which provides the flexibility to make custom forms and programming styles. Aspen Enterprise can connect to various backends like Oracle 8, SQL Server 6.5, and DB2 for those labs that track lots of data.

The company also offers Conifer LIMS, a 16-bit solution which comes in several versions, including Conifer QC/Manufacturing, Conifer R&D, Conifer Environmental, and Conifer Water/Wastewater. A Windows-based SQL-compliant LIMS, the Conifer LIMS solutions can interface easily with MRP systems. Specifically designed for the manufacturing support lab, the Conifer QC/Manufacturing version is particularly appropriate for organizations involved in the food industry, but works well for any manufacturing facility.

Telecation's original LIMS, SmartLab 2000, was a DOS-based LIMS.
