L.I.M.S. USA Inc Introduces New StarLIMS 9.0 and StarLIMS 9i

L.I.M.S. USA recently introduced their new StarLIMS 9.0 for the client/server environment and StarLIMS 9i solution for the Internet. Beckman Coulter Introduces New LabManager iLIMS

Beckman Coulter has introduced a new, reengineered LIMS called LabManager iLIMS that incorporates navigation advances and innovative features for flexibility and ease of use. LabManager iLIMS includes the option to access the system from an Internet web browser or a client/server Microsoft Outlook-styled user interface. The system also incorporates Microsoft Visual Basic which gives users the power to easily automate tasks and customize applications, calculation, data presentation formats and data entry forms. Beckman Coulter Introduces New Web-based User Interface

A new Web-based User Interface for the new LabManager iLIMS software has been released by Beckman Coulter. The new web browser interface provides complete LIMS functionality, including comprehensive sample and test lifecycle processing involving sample submissions, sample receipt, data entry, data review, sample approval and reporting. Using a commercial web browser, this new solution also allows LIMS table maintenance on records such as method definition and product specifications. This new approach allows all laboratory data processing and rules to reside on the LIMS server with no local software running on the user workstation, except the web browser, thereby eliminating software installation and updates on each user workstation and simplifying the validation process. Beckman Coulter Joins CENSA

The Laboratory Automation Operations (LAO) of Beckman Coulter, Inc. recently joined the Collaborative Electronic Notebook Systems Association (CENSA). Contemporary Solutions Name Change to CSOLS

Contemporary Solutions Ltd., leading Laboratory Software company has changed its name to CSOLS plc (pronounced See-Sols). This name change has been necessary due to the company's continued growth and international expansion. LabSystems Initiates LIMS License Swap

LabSystems is offering customers of commercial LIMS solutions a free of charge one-for-one slicense trade-in to a LabSystems LIMS in a campaign running throughout 2000. Under the terms of the campaign, if a customer has an "n" user LIMS license from another vendor, and elects to replace that system during 2000 with a LabSystems LIMS, LabSystems will provide an "n" user license for LabSystems LIMS free of charge. The customer would pay LabSystems for any LabSystems implementation resources used, at LabSystems normal rates, just as they would have to pay any LIMS vendor for such services. The LabSystems product would be supplied with LabSystems' normal 90 day warranty, just as if the customer had purchased the product, after which, service contracts are available (although not mandatory) at LabSystems normal rates. SpectraLIMS Launches SpectraLIMS

SpectraLIMS made their U.S. debut at the LIMS 2000 conference to launch their new SpectraLIMS solution. SpectraLIMS is touted as an ASP (Application Service Provider) LIMS that was developed around HTML and TCP/IP protocols to be designed for use on the Internet as an Intranet/Extranet solution. LabVantage Solutions Announces Partnership with Northwest Analytical

LabVantage Solutions (LVS) has announced a business partnership with Northwest Analytical Inc. James Aurelio Joins LabVantage Solutions as New President

Blaze Systems Launches New BlazeLIMS Web Solution

Blaze Systems has introduced a workgroup product based on Microsoft Access called BlazeLIMS Web. The new LIMS is designed for small 5-10 user laboratories that can use several databases from Oracle to perform tasks. Telecation Introduces New Conifer 32 LIMS

Telecation recently launchesd a new Conifer 32 LIMS, a 32-bit version of their popular Conifer environmental LIMS. Conifer is Telecation's low-end solution for small labs, and is based on Office 97 and Access. This latest version is Microsoft Office 2000 compatible as well as Access 2000 compatible. Agilent Technologies Launches Cerity Networked Data System for Analytical Laboratories

Agilent Technologies has launched the new Cerity networked data system. The Cerity family consists of 32-bit software applicaitons that model the way users work within their particular environment. With large enterprise systems taking over many of the data processing and evaluation capabilities of LIMS, Agilent decided to concentrate on providing efficient and convenient ways to process samples and send data to enterprise sysems in a form that is easy to process and analyze. NEC Technologies Inc. and and Guardess Announce New System-User Authentication Application

NEC Technologies Inc. and Guardess have developed a system-user authentication application using fingerprint imaging technology and a biometrics sensor that eliminates the need for passwords in Total Quality Management software. Under the partnership, new applications will be developed, based on Guardess' Quality Navigator Suite and NEC's TouchPass log-on system that allow computers and networks to authorize user access from fingerprint images. National Instruments has released LabView version 5.1.1 at no charge to existing LabView 5.1 customers. National Instruments Announces New LabView RT for Real-Time Control

National Instruments has released LabView RT to accelerate development and deployment of real-time applications. The new data acquisition and control system is based on PXI/CompactPCI and allows easy graphical programming of embedded, real-time applications. National Instruments Extends Data Acquisition and Instrument Control for MacOS

National Instruments has extended data acquisition and instrument control so that Power Macintosh users how have more options when building Mac-based measurement and automation systems. This release includes drivers for 13 additional PCI data acquisition boards six drivers for PXI/CompactPCI data acquisition modules, and one driver for a PXI-GPIB instrument control module. National Instruments has released additional Mac OS drivers for its PCI and PXI computer plug-in devices.
