AG Communication Systems Releases Version 2.1 of Justice-Trax LIMS-plus

AG Communication Systems (Phoenix, AZ) recently released Version 2.1 of its JusticeTrax LIMS-plus software. JusticeTrax LIMS-plus is a Windows-based case management software system specifically designed for the forensic laboratory. The software increases the accuracy and efficiency of forensic lab paperwork. Version 2.1 includes a controlled substances module, an activity reporting module, and an invoicing module. Beckman LAO Expands Technical Support Services

Beckman Instruments (Allendale, NJ) recently introduced new technical support services for its Laboratory Automation Operations (LAO) division. One of the major enhancements is the installation of a central database for all of its technical support specialists. This knowledge-based system contains answers to technical questions. Support professionals worldwide use the system to easily access information and efficiently address customer inquiries. Labtronics Releases RS232 Data Collection Software for Windows 95

Labtronics (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) recently released Collect 3.0 for Windows 95 and NT. This software eliminates manual data entry from up to nine RS232C devices and instruments while allowing data to be deposited directly into any Windows 95 or NT based program. PE Nelson Now Offers Labtronics' Instrument Interfacing Software and Services with the SQL*LIMS Client/Server System

PE Nelson (San Jose, CA) has formed a distribution agreement with Labtronics (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) to sell a special version of Labtronics' instrument interfacing software and services called IDM Instrument Design Module LimsLink version 2.0. this software is a a Windows-based tool designed to collect, translate and route data from virtually any instrument to PE Nelson's SQL*LIMS Client/Server LIMS. ChemWindow Upgrade Now Available

SoftShell (Grand Junction, CO) recently announced an upgrade for ChemWindow. Called ChemWindow DB 4.0, the software offers OLE-compatibility with Microsoft Word software for in-place structure drawing and report writing; complete integration with Microsoft Access for database creation and searching; yet with the same beginner-level simplicity of earlier versions. Earthsoft and Intelex Announce Compliance Software Distribution Agreement for U.S.

These products include systems for environmental health and safety, safety performance, and ISO 14000. Pittcon '97 LIMS Symposium

A LIMS Symposium is being organized for Pittcon '97. Current plans call for a variety of talks from a number of different areas. Five individuals are needed who would be willing to discuss one of the following topics:
- Linking LIMS to enterprise systems such as SAP
- Validation of LIMS
- Global implementation of LIMS
- Utilization of LIMS in Laboratory Automation
Talks need to be about 30-35 minutes, including time for questions and answers.
